Top Meeting 2017

  • Reykjavik Iceland (map)

Dear Member Organisation,

Summer is a magical time in the Nordics. The days get longer, the nights get shorter and the warmer weather is finally here to stay. Every Nordic person knows there is nothing like the Nordic summer. While we are looking forward to a well-deserved vacation, we are also looking to the future. The NCF has decided to organise the upcoming Top Meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland. The meeting will take place from Friday to Sunday the 1st to the 3rd of September 2017. We are happy to have Samband Ungra Framsóknarmanna as our hosting organisation!

It is not every day we are visit Iceland, which is why it requires carefully planning and early organising. We hope you understand this and will be as cooperative as possible.

The program will begin in the afternoon on Friday, and therefore, the morning is reserved for traveling. Saturday is reserved for the meeting itself and Sunday for the travels back home. All practical information, the program for the event, as well as the Agenda for the Top Meeting will be sent to the delegates two weeks before the Top Meeting.

Delegates

According to the Board Decision on the 20th of May 2015, the amount of delegates and votes of each delegation shall be proportional. The amounts are set according to the number of members of each Member Organisation and the size of each Member Organisation’s membership fee. If you are unsure about the number of delegates your organisation can send, please be in contact with our Secretary General at ncf.secretarygeneral@gmail.com.

Resolutions

We encourage every participating Member Organisation to submit resolutions. The resolutions must be written in English. The deadline for submitting resolutions is the 20th of August 2017. Please send them to ncf.secretarygeneral@gmail.com.

Registration

The first round of registration will end the 30th of June. The reason for the early registration is because we need to start booking as quickly as possible, as Iceland is both a popular as well as an expensive destination. We hope your organization can register as many participants as possible for the suggested date. All information in the form must be filled out. NCF will book the transportation to Reykjavik, but if a delegate wishes to book his or her transportation him- or herself, it is possible as long as you let our Secretary General know in advance. In this case we cannot guarantee how much we can compensate for the ticket, as the NCF always chooses the cheapest possible travel option, and delegates must expect to spend Friday morning and Sunday evening travelling.

NB! Please not that NCF board members are part of the Member Organisations' delegations.

Participation fee

The preliminary participation fee is 250 €/participant. According to the Board Decision on the 25th of February 2017 participants signing up after the deadline are charged with an extra fee of 100€. This accounts for all sign-ups done up to two weeks after the deadline. If the sign-up is done two weeks past the deadline, the participant is responsible for the booking and the costs him-/herself.

If a participant is nominated to take part in the Top Meeting, this is a commitment to participate, and the participation fee will be charged even if the participant doesn’t attend the meeting. Unforeseen circumstances can of course be discussed. In this case, please contact the Secretary General at ncf.secretarygeneral@gmail.com.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in Iceland!
